Abandoned Tracks on Lasher Road

Hidden in the weeds, red rusted rails
Stretch through the summer woods like any track.
They draw me on around the bend past limits
Posted by authorities to find the
Elderberry trees and mullein plants as
Tall as me. Inner devae hold their
Power in waste spaces, tucked away from
Observation, roads, and traffic lights. I
Barely hear the highway and lie down on
Grassy spots with leaf green spirits. If I
Journey on this Unknown Trail across
Forgotten land, I’m taken out of mind on
Rusty rails of ill used thoughts to God and
Leave you all behind. I go ahead.

This piece seems to leave me wanting more … that can be either a good or bad thing, but in this case it is not so good. It changes thoughts & images so quickly that it almost appeared rushed … just to complete it. Sorry, but that’s how it made me feel …
disconnected and somewhat confused as to what the writer was trying to convey. Good Luck. Peace Out.,

As someone who knows well the adventures in both plant life and wandering,as well as trance/journey work, this piece holds all of the mystery of them! I absolutely “get it”. Where I live, there are many abandoned tracks that the railroad companies have seemingly forgotten about, and they no longer spray the Paraquat herbicides. It is always fascinating to find that the plant devas repopulate their green children so profusely after such abuse.Thank you,Ms Abrams, for sharing!
